Hey guys, I thought I'd take a few to talk about how we're gonna get our house.
First off, let me begin by saying that no one in any way is required to donate to the cause. I know that some of us aren't as good at making money as others, and repair costs can be a bitch. No one is going to get booted or promoted based on their contribution or lack thereof.
Having said that, the more you give, the better chance we have of getting a house. I fully expect most of the smaller and medium-sized plots to be snatched up within a few weeks. I'm aware that we aren't going to afford a large plot, unless someone wins the lottery, but we at least deserve a medium lot in a nice location, and I have one picked out that a good amount of you have said is quite nice.
As of last time I checked, we had a bit over 4.3 million gil in the bank! That's a pretty awesome number, and I'm proud of you guys. Sadly, SE says that's chump change for the Eorzean real estate market. We're gonna need to keep it flowing if we want a house soon.
Now, like I said: No one is going to be shunned for not donating. But if you haven't yet put any in, now is the time to get on it. If you HAVE already given some, give more. A lot of you are beyond the point where your main job needs cash for gear, and you can't take your gil with you when you die, so do something awesome with it! Odd Jobs is a great FC, and we deserve a cool place to hang out and meet up for whatever.
Three notes:
- I have set everyone's rank to be able to deposit gil directly into the chest. No more sending it via mogmail. This is a much more hassle-free setup all around.
- If you need help figuring out how to make money, there a re quite a few ways. Just ask in chat, and someone is bound to have a few suggestions.
- A great way to get more housing money ( and I know this is shameless, sorry) is to recruit more members! We could use a few more helpful, friendly actives in our family, so if you know a good player who isn't a total douchebag, lure them in!
