This is your story...

So!  A lot of us have been playing for a fair amount of time now.  And with time, comes stories.  I would like to hear about your adventures in FFXIV.  Namely,  the craziest, coolest,  awesome or hilarious moment you've seen, had happen, or caused.  

Now here is the kicker.  I will pick a couple to draw out in epic comic form. .   (I draw for a living,  so it'll be ok.  Part job is for benefits  That being said, I guess I'll start. 


I'd have to go with this Titan HM I did.  I do Titan on the regular but this one was particularly amazing.  On p5,  where most people die from "lag",  Titan was down to about 20%. The tank was about to die on the next rock buster, as one healer was down and 3 of the 5 dps were dead.  As expected, the tank died, but by this point the limit break would have been the kill shot.   Only problem was Mountain buster was next.  So the whm has a brilliant idea.  I get ready to lb, and she swiftcast, stone skinned me.  My hp, which it just over 5 k with food, was topped off.  So it was Final Heaven vs Mountain Buster.  The Mountan Buster hits me, for 4900, which left me with about 100hp.  The whm then hits me with Benediction, and Final Heaven lands,  killing titan.  It.  Was.  Awesome.  The adreneline was definitely flowing,  and it was one of the coolest wins.  

Now tell me.  What is your story?

For me it was probably my first Caduceus kill, I was in a Pf group, about the 7th version of that group that day, I was beginning to believe that a kill was never going to happen. But on our 7th attempt things were looking good, we split with zero stacks, we knew we had it, both snakes down to about 5%, I'm already celebrating. Of course then all he'll brakes lose, first the dragoon dies, tail whipped to death, said tail whip somehow catches the second healer too, she also dies, I raise the drg, as the second snake dies so does the mt on the first snake in the process of the ot grabbing first snake 3 more people die, the drg with his last breathe lb,s the snake but it's not enough, both healers are dead, the ot dies, I blow all my cool downs and slap every dot on the snake I have, he goes for garuda first which buys me valuable seconds, but it's too late, with garuda murdered he turns his attention to me, I run, I throw a swift cast raise to the first healer I can select.... but it's no use with one final vicious lunge to my back he takes me out... But it's not over, cause a split second after that my dots tick over and the snake is dead, the healer is raised and we have won the fight. My first down of caduceus and by far my most epic.

For me I think my favorite moment was when I was leveling Black Mage, though really it was nothing I had planned, just sheer panic that turned out funny.

I was in the Gorgimera fate in Northern Thanalan with a full party. The tank failed to stun one of his attacks, and somehow, since I was the farthest away, when his aoe went off I was the ONLY person left alive. He began to chase me, and I ran to the edge of the fate. I figured I was going to die, but I didn't want his hp to reset, so I reasoned if I could hold out till everyone got back then it would help.

Somehow, and I don't know how I managed it, but I managed to stay just out of reach of most of his attacks, and was able to only be hurt enough that a Swiftcast/physic would take me back to full.

It took about 2 minutes for everyone to get back, but by the time they had I had generated SO much hate using instant spells so I could keep running, that 3 paladins could NOT take him off of me. he was only at 50%, and the ads began to spawn... and all chase me. I hit sprint, continued moving around the inside ring of the fate, and avoided getting hit. they would lost interest and run back to their spot at almost the perfect time for me to run past them again, which meant they would agro on me again, and start chasing me.

No one bothered to kill the ads, and I literally kited Gorgimera for the entire rest of the fate, with a small trail of meele fighters following behind him, and the casters standing where they could reach him to get one or two spells off before he ran out of range again. I took so much damage that fight that my gear went from 100% to like 15%, but I somehow managed not to die.

My favorite part was the conversation I had with the party bard afterward.

Him: that was the best fucking kiting I've EVER seen!
Me: That wasn't kiting, that was pure fucking fear.

I i litteraly used raise for 70% of that fight, ran out of mp 5 times along with using ether
Raised healers 8x during p5
Raised dps about the same ammount if not more tho they all managed to die after the raise debuff had ended...

i was not pleased, atleast i got my relic but god i wanna highfive those guys in the face, with a truck.

It's not the craziest moment I've had in this game, but I feel it would fit nicely in a comic strip. Here it goes:

- Joining in progress in ct. "Yes, King Behemoth!". I've just gotten lvl50 with my tank and is ordered to take the giant. Everything goes pretty smoothly. I tank giant, giant dies. Everyone hides. We'll make it. Piece of cake. I pick up the giant again. DPS' are braindead and starts popping all CDs to kill him. I regain back agro, and they start focus on Behemoth who is very low on hp. LBs go off. Ignoring the giant. One comet is left on the ground. Behemoth starts to summon a big meteor to kill us all. The giant is still up. "Fuck", I mumbled to myself while looking at the rest of the raid. "I'll fucking take that meteor to the face! Bring it on!" I knew I had to eat that meteor so the giant wouldnt wipe the whole raid. Meteor was summoned, it landed, it killed me. We got the win 10 seconds later. I was running CT over and over again to get the bard chest and it dropped. I greeded, I won. A noble sacrifice to the loot Gods.

It never gets old, but probably one of our early odd job Turn 1 runs, before we got the first FC kill....why tell you the story when I can show you though, check out "How fast things can go bad"...

My favorite moment was when I first seen the Cutscene with Garuda.

Looking straight at her and hearing that TRUELY AWESOME MUSIC BEGIN.

I totaly Fell in Love with that game there.

And also a nice moment was the Crowd of Early Acess, don't know if you guys went online at EA, I was and it was awesome.

Most people flamed about servers though, but some special ppl (which are close friends of me now) were truely just chilled

Was also a real cool moment.


And yeah.


The funniest Story would be (no offense) me and my Wife played a Dungeon. Copperbell mines. So far so good.

I was Tanking, she was healing. The 3 DDs were from France. Speaking not even A WORD OF ENGLISH.


We decided NOT to leave so they wouldn't have to wait for another tank ages long.

So with the Smartphone and the Translator App opened, we ran through the Mines. After 1 Boss 2 French people leaved.

Only a Bard and me as a PAL and SCHolar was the group now.


But the Last French Guy did not give up and we closely completed the dungeon and the last boss.

It was awesome
